ERW not compatible with NetBEUI

Question

I try to start ERW up from an operator station in an IGSS multi-user system. It begins to load its program modules and suddenly it halts and the following message comes up on the screen.

How do I resolve this?

Answer

The reason for this error message is that Access cannot run when the NetBEUI protocol is used as the network protocol. This results in Access not being able to communicate with the IGSS application or configuration through the ODBC interface, which is the message displayed above, while in fact the real problem is the use of the NetBEUI protocol itself.

To solve the problem, the TCP/IP network protocol must be used instead of NetBEUI if ERW report generation is to function properly.
