In IGSS V8 the Alarm Management System (AMS) module has been upgraded by adding some new and improved functionality. In the following is given a short description of the new features for AMS:
- Remote Control of IGSS Objects from AMS
It is now possible to send commands to IGSS from the AMS module. - Pause AMS
Alarm forwarding to operator mobile phones may now be paused. When the operator goes out to inspect a certain process component due to an alarm, the operator usually does not want to receive more alarms on his mobile phone until he is finished with the inspection. - Block alarm acknowledge and process commands from AMS
To meet the security demands in the automation industry, commands and alarm acknowledgements may now be restricted for AMS. This restriction may be set individually for each IGSS object. - Do not send existing IGSS alarms when monitoring starts
If AMS has been offline for a while and is started up again, there will most likely be a lot of pending alarms. These may already have been dealt with by other personnel and they should therefore not be forwarded to operators mobile phones when AMS is started. In IGSS V8, forwarding of old pending alarms may now be inhibited.
