The Winpager module is quite a unique feature in the SCADA world. IGSS is one of the few SCADA systems offering this type of module, which permits transmission of alarms to operator cell phones in accordance with predefined calendar based duty schedules, holidays, user defined specific calendar days, etc.
Winpager has been improved with the following functionality:
Schedule for Each Individual Operator
Each operator can view his schedule and status in Winpager. This schedule, of course, forms the basis for the way Winpager alerts the operator – i.e. the relay chain for the alarms.
Modem Failure Message
The Winpager module now ensures that unmanned plants are not ignored in the event of modem failure. If the modem connection fails, remote operators may not be aware of the fact that this is not a sign of the absence of alarms. In such situations it's imperative to know that there is no communication from the plant. Winpager can now detect modem failure and alerts personnel by entering a modem failure alarm message in the alarm list. At the moment, this functionality is only avaialble for the Siemens M20 and M35 GSM modems.
Special Messages Option
User-defined messages can now be conveyed through Winpager. The message can be assigned to a specific time of transmittal, e.g. to alert the next operator of the start of his shift.
Winpager Configuration Is Readily Available
To ensure that the Winpager configuration can be reused, it is now saved in a file ready for easy modification, transfer etc.
