Yet another entirely new feature in version 4 is the Object Historian, which gives plant operators an instant "window" on what's been taking place in selected process components.
For a quick overview of developments the past few hours, operators can "lasso" objects directly from an IGSS32 diagram and then call up the Object Historian dialogue box where the lassoed objects automatically are listed. From here the operator determines how far back in time to go (minutes, hours or days) and what information to view on the objects, for instance log, alarm, BCL or user login/logout. When the query is activated, the Object Historian collects the data and presents it quickly on screen. If needed, this data can then be printed out or saved as a flat, csv file for future reference.
