Installing World Wide Web server software

Any 3rd party software package for configuring a world wide web server may be used. However, in the following we use Microsoft’s Internet Information Services (IIS) software because of its easy availability and compatibility with the Windows platform.

If you use Windows NT as the combined IGSS/Web server platform, the IIS software is not included in the product and must be obtained via a so-called NT Options Pack. However, if you use Windows 2000 as the IGSS/Web server platform, the IIS software is included with the product. Normally, the IIS software will not have been installed on the Windows 2000 system, and therefore this task must be completed before continuing.
