To define an analog, table or counter template
Select
Template ® Create .
Select
the relevant type.
Type
a unique name and an optional description.
To
distinguish templates from objects, use ALL CAPS for template names and
normal case for object names.
Click
OK . The object properties dialog box
for the selected type appears.
Dependent
on whether you are defining an analog, table or counter template, do one
of the following:
On
the Analog tab, define the measuring
range and unit, low and high alarm limits, set point, etc.
How?
On
the Table tab, specify its constituent
analog objects, minimum and maximum values, etc.
How?
On
the Counter tab, specify the preset
and maximum values and whether you want to enable alarm supervision.
How?
If
you are defining an analog template, click the Alarm
In/Ack tab to define alarm indication and alarm acknowledgement
bits.
How?
Click
the Data Management Definitions tab
to define how you want to collect and log data.
How?
Click
the Edit Mapping tab to define
the PLC addressing and alarm texts.
Leave
only the Bit Offset field open.
Click
the Symbol Definition tab to choose
the color and symbol to represent objects based on this template.
How?
Click
OK to save the template.
Tip
When a template is used, objects can be defined
simply and quickly, since the only additional information the system needs
is a new object name, PLC addressing and graphical presentation.
Note
The properties of a template may be changed when
the template is used to create the individual objects. For table, counter
and analog templates, previously defined objects are NOT affected by later
changes to the templates.
