Sending a digital command from a button

This example shows how you can let the operator click the button to send a digital command. You simply bind a click on the button to the appropriate command and show the name of the command on the face of the button.

Binding a button image to a digital state

Usually, a symbol from the symbol file is used for a digital state. However, by using a command button, you can actually show different images of the digital process component dependent on its state. You can use any image format supported by IGSS.

The figure below shows an example where two different images represent the two states of a pump: Forwards and Backwards.

Opening a program or a website

The operator can open a program or a website simply by clicking a button. This is done as follows:

  1. In the Drawing toolbar select the command button icon - images\ico_drw_but.gif.
  2. Place the button on the diagram and resize it.
  3. Double-click to change the button properties.
  4. Select the Miscellaneous property group.
  5. Do the following:

  2. From the IGSS Starter program, start the configuration
