To create an independent line

If necessary, select View ® Drawing Toolbar.
Click $images\ico_drw_line.gif$ in the Drawing toolbar and move the cursor to the position where you want the line to start.
Click once and drag the line to the desired end point.
Change the line properties, as required.

Tips

You can freely rotate a line by dragging the selection handle at the line end you want to move.
