Before you perform the procedure, read
the scenario description.
Before you go through this procedure, you must open the Demo configuration
and create a new area called NewInThisVersion.
- Create a
diagram called PlantsOverview
and do the following:
- Select
the Name to menu check box to
allow operators to choose it in the Diagram
menu
- Click
OK to close the dialog box.
- Go to the
Plants area.
- Select the
three buttons referring to the diagrams: Beverage,
Dairy and Power
and press CTRL + C to copy.

press CTRL + V to paste the three buttons.
- Do the following:
- Move
the three buttons to the top of the diagram and distribute them horizontally.
- Create
a text box to the left of the buttons named Plants
(the area name). Use the Font and
Color toolbars to make the text
larger and apply a blue color.
- Hold
down the CTRL button and resize the overview diagram so that it takes
up approx. the top 30 % of the screen. If you don’t hold down the CTRL
button, the buttons will be resized as well.
- Right-click
the diagram and select Properties.
- Clear
the Title bar check box (we don’t
want the diagram to take up too much space)
- Click
OK to close the dialog box.
- Go to the
Plants area to copy one of the
three diagrams. In real life, we would of course copy all three diagrams.
- Go to the
Dairy diagram, select all objects
and press CTRL + C to copy.
- Go to the
NewInVersion5 area and open the
newly created PlantsOverview diagram.
Double-click the Dairy button.

the References option.

the two check boxes, Automatically rename
conflicting object names and Paste
report formats.
- Click
OK to paste the objects.

diagram to fit the lower portion of the screen. Hold down the CTRL button
while resizing to preserve the proportions of the contents of the diagram.
- Select View ® Drawing
toolbar. Click the alarm list icon -
–
and point to a position just below the diagram buttons.
- Resize the
alarm list to fit within the overview diagram.
- Right-click
the alarm list, choose Properties and
do the following:
- Change
the order of the columns in the list by dragging and dropping the field
names in this order: Object name,
Alarm number, Alarm
text, Priority, Start
date, Start time, Acknowledge time, End
time. If the field does not have a * in the Active
column, right-click the field and choose Activated.
- Select the
Sort order option and do the following:

the field Acknowledge date to
the top of the list.
- Change
the sort order of the fields Acknowledge
time and Priority to descending

button and do the following:

Edit condition area, select Area name ® Is exact ® Plants.
- Click
the Add button to apply the condition.
In this case, we will just add this one condition, but you can apply several
conditions and combine them using either Or
or And.
- Click
OK to close the dialog box.
- This is a local
filter defined for this alarm list descriptor only. You can also click
the Import button to import filters
defined in the Alarm
program.
- Select the
Default check box to apply this
filter as default when running the configuration. If several filters had
been defined, the operator would be able to select other filters.

Save as template check box to
make the current settings active when you insert a new alarm list descriptor.
- Click OK to close the dialog box.
