IGSS is an ActiveX control container
IGSS is a full-featured ActiveX control container which means that you can freely integrate ActiveX controls to visualize and control process components.
The user interface to the properties of the ActiveX control is standardised for all types of controls. The properties can be viewed and changed in the Descriptor Properties dialog box that lists all the properties that the ActiveX control will allow you to change from IGSS. From the same dialog box you can bind each individual property to an IGSS object, where appropriate.
Why use ActiveX controls ?
You can use an ActiveX control as an alternative presentation of a process component on a process diagram. The ActiveX control can then be used to visualize and control the process component it is bound to. The number of ActiveX controls available on the market is vast and continuously growing. We have added a few WWW links to some of the sites that we find interesting for the supervision and control business. Click here to view the list..
As opposed to other descriptors in IGSS, each property of the ActiveX control can be bound to individual objects. Other types of descriptors can only be bound (or connected) to one IGSS object.
Changing ActiveX control properties
When you have inserted an ActiveX control in IGSS, you must right-click it and select Descriptor Properties to view all its properties. You can then right-click each property to show a pop-up menu from which you can -
