Safe Commands

What can the Safe Commands be used for?

Safe Commands are applied to specific objects in the configuration where commands must be executed extra carefully. These Safe Command functions can remove the hazard of unintended commands being sent by accident or commands being sent by unauthorized personnel.

Types of Safe Commands

There are three different Safe Commands that may be selected for an object in the IGSS configuration. For each Safe Command, a dialog box will appear, when an operator tries to send a command to the object. Click the drop-down buttons to view an example of each dialog box and a short description:

View an example for Password

View an example forConf. 2 Users

Procedure examples

To demonstrate the use of the Safe Commands, two examples are given. Example 1 illustrates the simplest Safe Command, that is the Confirm Safe Command. Example 2 illustrates the two Safe Commands, Conf. Password and Conf. 2 Users.
