The operator's interface to reusable diagrams

Introduction

This topic takes a more detailed look at the operator's interface to reusable diagrams.

STEP 1: Choose the reusable diagram

For the operator a reusable diagram looks just like any other diagram on the surface. The operator will typically activate the reusable diagram –

by choosing its name in the Diagram menu or
by clicking a button or field referencing the reusable diagram

STEP 2: Choose the set of objects to display

When a reusable diagram appears, a dialog box box prompts the operator to choose the set of objects to display. The list contains groups which have been -

Pasted as copies of the diagram’s control group
Imported via a Group export file (.cgf) created from the diagram’s control group

The Choose Objects to Display dialog box looks like this. The operator will then choose the relevant set of objects.

The objects are displayed

The reusable diagram will then appear showing the selected set of objects.

Choosing another set of objects to display

To view another set of objects, click the Refresh item in the Diagram menu.

The Choose Objects to Display dialog box appears again and the operator chooses another set of objects.
