Example: Creating a simple report format
Sample report format
- You can use the Demo configuration included in your IGSS installation
to go through this example.
Assume that we want to create a report format for the Snapshot
report type called Flow Measurement,
with the following report headings:
The report format is to be used by the operator to print a Snapshot
Report.
How to define
To define the above report format, do the following. (For further details
on the individual steps, click the See
Also button above).
- Select Edit ® Report
Formats.
- Create a
new report format with the name Flow
Measurement.
- Under Report type, select the Snapshot
report option.
- Check the
Set as default box to suggest
this report format automatically when the operator opens the Snapshot Report program.
- Under Report headings, click Create
to define the first report heading. Repeat for all report headings.
- Click OK to go back.
- Under Chosen objects, click Browse
to include the relevant objects in the report format:
- Drag
all objects starting with “q” to the q-meters
heading.
- Drag
all objects starting with “p” to the pumps
heading.
- Drag
all objects starting with "v” to the valves
heading.
- In the Object Browser dialog box, you can filter
out all objects starting with a certain character. Under List
filter settings, type q* to show only objects
starting with q.
- Make sure the Show reductions box is unselected in
the Object Browser, otherwise
the "drag and drop" will not function.
- Click Preview to see what the report will
look like.
Report format preview
Before you commission the report format to the operators, it is recommended
to preview it to ensure that it looks as desired.
