Select objects for report formats, embedded graphs, etc.
The Object Browser is used for
selecting objects for report formats, embedded graphs and Groups.
This topic gives you an example where we are defining a report format,
but the procedure for selecting the objects is the same in all cases.
In the example, we will include the two temperature meters, PATemp3
and PATemp4, in the report format
called Actual value report. The
procedure is based on the built-in Demo configuration.
On the Edit menu, select Report
Formats.
Click the
+ sign beside Actual
value report.
Select the
Analog section of the report.
You can now see the objects included in this section.
In the Chosen objects area, click the Browse button.
In the List filter settings area, make sure
that the Show reductions check
box is disabled. You will only enable this check box when you're selecting
objects for periodical
reports.
In the Wild card text criteria field, type
PA*.
Four objects are now listed.
Select PATemp3, hold down SHIFT and select
PATemp4.
Move the
Object Browser to the right so
that you can drag the objects into place in the Report
Formats dialog box.
Click within
the selection and drag the two objects into the Analog
report section.
When the
cursor changes to a + sign, drop
the two objects.
The two
objects are now members of the report format and will be included when
the operator generates the Actual value
report next time.
