General functions

Introduction

This topic gives you an overview of the general functions in the Object Browser.

Always on top

When you are selecting objects for report formats, Groups and graphs, you will have two different dialog boxes open simultaneously. If you intend to drag several objects from the Object Browser, select the Always on top check box at the bottom of the dialog box. The Object Browser will then remain on top while you select the different objects and drag them onto the relevant dialog box.

Advanced

The Object Browser can be shown in two different views: Simple and advanced.

So far all examples have shown the advanced view. But disabling the Advanced check box, will remove the advanced options of the dialog box. As a system designer, you will most likely use the advanced view most of the time. But as an operator, the simple mode may be sufficient for most operations. We have therefore chosen to show the simple mode by default in the Supervise program.

What's This? Help

If you're in doubt about one of the options in the dialog box, simply select the images\ico_help.gif button, then click the field or button to show the help text.
