Another very useful function which has become much more versatile with the Object Browser is the ability to quickly find an object in the configuration.
The first step is to activate the Open by Name item in the Edit menu.
Next you will want to filter the list to easily find the object you are looking for. You have numerous filtering options, but the really quick one is using the Wildcard text criteria field. You can filter the object list by f.ex. entering q* to filter out all objects starting with q.
Under Open by name you can enable two options:

open the properties dialog box for the object. |
Finally, click the Open / Select button to find the object you are searching for.
In this example, we have filtered the object list to only show flow gauges (q*) and we've selected the q4 object.
