Finding an object in an IGSS configuration is very easy using the Object Browser. This topic gives you
a couple of examples that you can use for inspiration.
You can try these procedures using the built-in Demo configuration.
Find an object by name
In this example, we want to find a pump and the only thing we know is
its name, p1.
On the Edit menu, select Open
by Name. The Object Browser dialog box
appears.
In the List filter settings area, enter p*
in the Wild card text criteria field.
The object list is now limited to all objects starting with p.
Select p1 in the list.
In the Open by name area, select the relevant
options:
Select
the Go to diagram check box to
move to the diagram where p1 is
located.
Select
the Show properties check box
to show the properties dialog box for p1.
You want to analyze all the components on the Beverage
diagram. Instead of finding the objects one by one, you will change
the tree view structure to get a complete overview of the diagrams in
the configuration.
On the Edit menu, select Open
by Name. The Object Browser dialog box
appears.
In the
Tree node filter settings area,
change the criteria to the following structure: Area – Diagram – Type (all possible).
Click the
+ sign beside the Plants
area.
Click the
Beverage diagram. All objects
on the Beverage diagram are now
listed.
