To define an analog object using standard symbols

  1. In the Objects menu, select the appropriate item in the lower part of the menu, for example, Analog Objects. The Object Browser dialog box appears listing the existing analog objects in the configuration.
  1. If you want to base the object on a template, click on the + sign beside the relevant area, then the + sign beside the Analogue branch. Finally, click on the template name.
  2. In the Create new object area, fill in a new unique object name and, optionally, a description.
  3. Check the Name, Description and Value boxes to show this information along with the object symbol.
  4. Click Create. The analog object properties dialog box appears.
  5. On the Analog tab, specify the measuring range, alarm limits, set point, etc.

  1. Click the Alarm In/Ack tab to define the bits used for alarm indication and alarm acknowledgement.

  1. Click the Data Management Definitions tab to define how you want to collect and log data.

  1. Click the Edit Mapping tab to define the PLC addressing and alarm texts.

  1. Click the Report Format tab to include this object in the standard reports.

  1. Click the Symbol Definition tab to choose the color and symbol to represent this object.

  1. Click OK to save the object.
  1. Position the symbol and object caption.
