To Export and Import an area

You can export an entire area from one IGSS configuration to a group object file (.cfg). This file can then be imported to a new configuration.

Global area to user defined area

When you export objects from the Global area, these can then be imported either to the Global area in the new project or any existing/new user defined area. When exporting from a user defined area, the imported objects will automatically be imported to an area with the same name.

The export/import area function only allows you to export text strings in the current active language of the Definition module. This means that object descriptions etc. translated to other languages, cannot be exported to another project.

To Export an area

  1. Click File®Export. The Export Group dialog box appears.
  2. In the File Name field type a name for the group object file (.cfg).
  3. Under Export select Area and in the drop-down box you select the area to export.
  4. Click Save.

 

To Import an area

  1. Click File ® . Import
  2. In the dialog box select the area to import (.cfg file) and click Open.
  3. Select the desired settings in the Paste Special dialog box and finish with OK.
