Example of changing PLC drivers and nodes
Let's say we need to change the PLC driver for a number of objects
on a diagram in the configuration or project. We also need to change node numbers for some
of these drivers. The diagram used in the example is from the IGSS Demo
configuration.
We use three different drivers in our configuration or project: the
7TAB, the 7TS7
and the 7TTP6. These have already
been set up in the System
Configuration module. All the objects on the diagram have
previously been set up with the 7TS7
PLC driver. Now we need to change the PLC driver for some of the objects.
We also need to change some of the node numbers.
We find to the diagram on which the changes have to be made, in this
case the diagram called Manufacturing,
and activate the Property Table View
either from the Diagram menu or
with the keyboard shortcut, Ctrl-H.
- Go to the
diagram Manufacturing and activate
Property Table View.
- In the tree
view click on the left click on the +
beside Manufacturing, the + beside Objects
and then select Standard.
- In the table
view to the right find the column called Driver
and place the mouse cursor in the first cell with the name 7TS7
(DemoStation) and with the left mouse button pressed drag the cursor
down to include the 6th cell,
which is opposite the object S2
in the first column.
- Double click
in the 6th cell to make the
drop down box arrow appear and click on it to reveal the choices avaiable.
- Select the
driver called 7TTP6 in the drop
down box and, making sure the cells above are still selected, click anywhere
away from the column and the change of driver takes place.
Our next task is to change node numbers for the
other driver used here in the Manufacturing
diagram, i.e. the 7TS7, from 0 to 1.
- In Property
Table View, some changes are done simply by inserting the required value
in the cell as opposed to being presented for a drop down box selection.
- Find the
column called Node and beside
the first instance of the driver 7TS7
(in the 7th cell from the
top) click and drag the mouse all the way to the bottom.
- Key in the
value 1 in the last cell of the
column and press the ENTER key.
- Now the
node number for driver 7TS7 should
have changed to 1.
