Introduction

Up to 24 function keys can be assigned for each diagram to provide an easy way of activating frequently used operations, such as opening another diagram, a graph, etc.

If the function key operates on one of the object types, digital, analog, counter or table, you even have the possibility to send a value or command to the object.

Defining function keys

When you create a new diagram, you enable the Function Keys on the first tab and assign the individual function keys on the Function Key Assignment tab.

To assign a function to a function key:

  1. Choose the desired function key.
  2. Choose the object you want to activate.
  3. For digital, analog, table and counter objects, select the atom and value/command you want the operator to send via this function key.

Up to 24 function keys can be assigned. Function keys 1 - 12 are activated by pressing the corresponding key. Function keys 13 - 24 are activated by pressing shift + f1 - f12.

Sending commands and values

For objects of the type digital, analog, table or counter, the operator can send a value or command to the selected object via a function key. After having selected the appropriate object, you choose the relevant atom in the Index list and a value or command in the Command/Value list.
