Convert units
Once you have at least two units sets, you can define unit conversions.
This means that you can convert one unit in one set to a unit in another
set. Click here to
see an example of a unit conversion from °C to °F.
Create a unit conversion
- Select Edit ® Unit Conversions.
- Click New. The Unit
Conversions dialog box appears.
- In the Convert from group, select the base
unit from which you want to convert.
- In the Convert to group, type the name of the
target unit and select the relevant units set.
- The target
unit can be created on the fly. It need not be present in the target units
set.
- In the Using formula group, enter the conversion
formula.
- In the Test calculator group, type a value
you want to convert and click =.
The conversion result appears.
- Click OK to save the conversion. The new unit
conversion appears in a list of all defined conversions.
Edit a unit conversion
- Select Edit ® Unit Conversions.
- Select the
unit conversion you need to edit and click Edit.
- Edit the
properties, as required.
- Click OK to save the conversion.
Delete a unit conversion
- Select Edit ® Unit Conversions.
- Select the
unit conversion you need to remove.
- Click Delete. A confirmation message appears.
- Click Yes.
Online unit conversion
The operator can choose which units set he wants to use during supervision.
If a unit conversion is defined, it will be executed when the operator
chooses a new units set.
- In Supervise,
select View ® Units Sets and select the relevant
units set.
- Any unit
conversions from the original units set to the new one will be executed
and the operator will see the units from the new units set.
