To show or hide popup descriptions (ToolTips)

Depending on your preference, you may want to have a small popup appear when you hold the cursor over an object. The popup will hold the name and description of the object.

To show popup descriptions

$images\ONESTEP.gif$ Select View ® Show ToolTips.

Tip

You can use this function to save space on the diagram by only showing the name along with the symbol. When you or the operator wants to view the description, simply hold the cursor over the object.

Change the tooltip popup time

It is possible to change the ToolTip popup times from the Windows Registry. Find the ToolTips PopupTime located in the DefRun32 folder of the IGSS registry and change to the desired timeout.

The maximum popup time is 32000 (32 secs.) and default is 5 secs.

The popup times set here goes for all the descriptors but not graphs since they have their own ToolTip handling.
