To paste copied objects to a new diagram
- Copy the
object(s) you want to paste onto a new diagram that you create on-the-fly.
- Select Edit ® Paste
to New Diagram.
- In the Area drop-down list, select the area
in which you want to create the new diagram. You can either create it
in the current area or in the Global
area.
- In the Name box, type the name for the new
diagram.
- In the Description box, type an optional description
for the new diagram.
- All other diagram
properties are inherited from the diagram you are copying from. You can,
of course, always change them afterwards, if required.
- In the Paste Copied Objects As group, select
either Object (creates a new object
based on the copied one) or Reference
(creates a link to the original object).
- Click OK.
- The new
diagram is created according to your specifications and the copied object(s)
are placed on the diagram.
Tip
Use this function to quickly create very similar
process diagrams. By using this function, you need not specify all the
diagram properties and if the objects on the new diagram are also very
similar to the original ones, you are just a few mouse clicks from completing
the diagram.
