Overview: Cut, copy and paste objects
The cut, copy and paste functions in IGSS Definition allow you to easily
move and copy objects within diagrams or between diagrams.
- Cut moves the selected object(s) to
the clipboard allowing you to paste them onto the current diagram or another
diagram.
- Copy creates a copy of the selected
object(s) on the clipboard allowing you to paste them onto the current
diagram or another diagram.
- Paste inserts the clipboard contents
in either of two ways. Paste Object
creates a new object based on the copied one which you must then rename.
Paste Reference merely inserts
a link to the original IGSS object allowing you to have references to
the same object on multiple diagrams. In that case, the object properties
are maintained in one place and are automatically updated for all references.
You are free to use different symbols for the individual references.
- Paste to New Diagram inserts the copied
objects from one diagram to a new diagram that you create on-the-fly.
You can choose to either paste the copied object(s) as new object(s) or
as references as described above. When you paste, the new diagram is created
according to your specifications and the object(s) you copied are placed
on the new diagram.
