Definition and use

A simulation file is a text file that contains simulated process values. It allows the system designer to visually check the configuration, before submitting it to the operators. By manipulating the values in the simulation file, he can simulate alarms, state changes, etc. to see how the graphical presentation works in terms of the use of colors and object descriptors.

Creating and using the simulation file

A simulation file can be created using any text editor as long as the resulting file is saved in text format. Its file name must be <config. name>.sim and it must be saved in the configuration root folder, that is, the folder containing the object database, <config. name>.elm.

To use the process values from the simulation file, you must install the configuration and make sure that the data collection engine runs simulated.
