To define an area

  1. Select Area ® Create. The New Area Properties dialog box appears.
  2. Type a unique name in the Name box.
  3. Type an optional description in the Description box.
  4. Check the Name to Menu box, if you want to include the area name in the Area menu.
  5. In the Default Node box, type a default node (PLC in a network).
  6. In the Default Driver box, select a default driver. If you are only using one PLC driver, it will be suggested automatically.
  7. In the Protection drop-down list, select the Protect object with which you want to protect the area from unauthorised access. The right to open areas is assigned in the User Administration program.
  8. Click OK.

 

Note

If you enter a default node and a default driver, they will be automatically suggested for each object you define in that area.
