When you’ve made changes to a configuration, you must install the changes
before the operator can use the modified configuration. There are two
methods available.
If the configuration is running
Select File ® Online
Update.
Click Yes to save the changes.
Result:
The installation program is automatically launched and the Installation
Options dialog box appears.
Change the
options, if necessary and click OK.
If the installation
is successful, a message prompt appears informing you how many objects
the installed configuration holds. From the message prompt, you can access
the installation report (<MyConfig>.prt)
by pressing Yes.
If there
are any errors in the configuration, the Troubleshooter program appears guiding
you through the correction of the errors. When the errors are corrected,
re-install the configuration.
In most cases,
you will not want to see the installation report. Press No
to allow IGSS to complete the installation of the configuration.
Result:
When the installation is completed, the modified configuration
will be started in the Supervise program.
If the configuration is not running
Select File ® Install
Configuration.
If you have
unsaved changes, you are prompted to save them. Otherwise, the installation
program is automatically launched and the Installation
Options dialog box appears.
Change the
options, as required and click OK.
If the installation
is successful, a message prompt appears informing you how many objects
the installed configuration holds. From the message prompt, you can access
the installation report (<MyConfig>.prt)
by pressing Yes.
If there

When the
configuration is installed, start the configuration from the IGSS Starter program. If the program is
not already open, select Start ® Programs ® IGSS 7.0 ® IGSS Starter.
Dependent
on the startup mode defined in the System Configuration program, do the following:
Click the
Start button followed by Supervise (manual startup mode)
Click the
Supervise button (automatic startup
mode)
Don’t click
on any buttons (Supervise startup mode)
Tips
For
details about the properties in the Installation Options dialog box, click , then click the relevant item in the dialog box.
Once
you have set up the appropriate options, you can check Skip This dialog box to bypass it when you
install your configuration.
